Till the Tide Comes

Updated: May 9

I was given a name

So I wrote it in sand

In the way I had learned

Till the tide comes

At 14, I decided I shall live forever

So I sewed it this time

To my sturdiest jeans

As they slowly unraveled

When I learned all the things

(So I thought I had done)

I forged it in steel and wore it as armor

Just to see it melt in fire

It melted in fire

Now a nameless nomad, I walk

And I write it in air that I breath

As I forget and remember

The sand and the tide

The needle and thread

The fire, the river

All paths I was led
